Looking for a beautiful outfit to wear for a casual evening out? Once again, I am calling on a few of my favorite trends this season: black and white, beautiful leather jackets and animal print.
This leather jacket is a buttery soft and elegant yet sporty suede design. With this leather jacket’s round neck, full length sleeves and simple button front, you have many options for tops to wear underneath. Once again the buttons on this jacket are like and accessory with a faux horn button closure. Don’t mistake casual for sloppy fit: with front and back princess seams, another seam at the center back, and a waist seam, this leather jacket will fit like a leather glove. These are couture details which require care in construction and are often found only on couture originals at a much higher price point. The cross stitching detail at princess seams and front and back sleeves really make this jacket look sharp.
Under the jacket is an geometric print blouse constructed of neat and comfortable stretch jersey. The neckline is very interesting–the blouse itself has a round Neck but sewn into the neck is a V-Split Neckline. This is a great choice for those ladies who prefer to cover their arms and are looking for something with a little more style than a mass produced tee-shirt. The full length sleeves have a black stretch velvet trim shirring detail at the sleeve cuff, front and back shoulder yoke
At the bottom are luxurious and comfortable stretch moleskin pants. Everything about their construction says style and comfort: the pans sit just below the waist with no waistband to pinch and dig. The fit so well because of an invisible dyed-to-match zipper at front, and princess seams or great fit and easy alteration. The Bootcut Leg and the Flat Front are very flattering while still looking stylish.
This great outfit is set off by the printed haircalf handbag with cut out patent leather handles. I just love the inside zipper pocket and magnetic closure.
Look great, feel great, have a great time!

As much as I love the Little Black Dress, there are those who look and feel more elegant in white. And now that white is a year round option, there are some absolutely beautiful options for white, particularly for the evening. This ensemble is a great example.
For the top, there is the option of a white tweed jacket with a round collar or a crepe cowl neck sweater. The tweed jacket (which is from the Linton mill where many of the Chanel tweeds are originated) has 3/4 length raglan sleeves and a rounded hem for a very soft and romantic look. Further adding to this elegance and romance are the finish details, which include a georgette binding all around the jacket. Wear this jacket with a winter white cami or pick an offsetting color such as black or red. The knit crepe cowl neck sweater has a pretty lace stitch underlay detail on the cowl neck and a lace ribe trim at the cuffs of the full length sleeves and hem of the sweater. The sweater is fully fashioned so that it fits very neatly at the waist.
At the bottom is the winter white twin to the black stretch silk georgette wide leg flat front pant from the black and red outfit. These pants sit at the waist with no waistband and a flat front for the most flattering silhouette. They are designed to give plenty of room for the thigh and hip without giving the appearance of stretch pants. The pants fit neatly and are easily tailored for a perfect fit because of a concealed dyed-to-match side zipper closure, and back waist darts.
There are many elegant options for dressing up on the cold and festive nights of the winter season!

Do you have plans to attend a social event this season? To make the most of social events, make sure you look and feel your best in your outfit. Ready to add a little pop to the Little Black Dress without stepping away from all of its elegance and style? Then consider the Little Red and Black Outfit.
Start your outfit with this black jacket with red satin dots. In keeping with this season’s trend of menswear for women, the jacket has a Notched Collar, which is pleated for an elegant and feminine touch. Check another trend for this season, which is interesting buttons. Doncaster meets this with beautiful glass buttons. While the look is classic, the fit is modern, with front and back princess seams, bust darts, waist seam at sides, and a split hem at front….lots of opportunities to easily alter this fully lined jacket into a customr fit.
Do you love it when a camisole fits just right without peek-a-boo straps? I used to wonder, “Does it ever happen that way?” Well check out this stretch silk charmeuse camisole. It has a scoop neck and a beautiful ruching detail at the capped sleeves. This cami has a great fit at the waist, thanks to a concealed dyed-to-match side zipper closure and princess darts at the front and back.
And what is more elegant and comfortable to finish off this great outfit than a stretch silk georgette wide leg flat front pant? These pants sit at the waist with no uncomfortable waistband, yet fit neatly due to a concealed dyed-to-match side zipper closure and back waist darts. Tired of pants that just don’t fit right? Well, with a cut for a generous thigh and easy hip, sit comfortably or dance for hours in these.

As many of you have read here, my mom is getting married later in October. Since she is not in twenties or thirties anymore, she really did not want a traditional white wedding dress. As soon as she saw this suit, she knew this was the one. The skirt is Asymmetrical so it fits well and feels comfortable all day. The jacket has a beautiful but subtle bow on the front. The jacket is neatly fitted. Being available in missy and petite sizes, we were able to get the perfect fit that hit right at her high hip for the jacket. The color of the suit is a true red. It is much more blue than orange– much more of a cranberry color. The bridesmaids are wearing a dress of the same color. Because of the tone, it looks great for all of us, whether we have silver hair or blonde.
Whether you are attending a wedding or a social event, women are dressing up more than they have been in recent seasons. If you ask me, this trend came not a moment too soon! Women are wearing dresses and suits to events that they wore pants to last year! So think about notching up your dress just a little this season. And remember: classic inspiration, modern fit and updated details.

One of my wonderful clients came by yesterday for a fitting. One of the pieces that she purchased for the winter season was this Glen Plaid suit. First of all, the Glen Plaid is absolutely beautiful. The way that the suit is constructed makes it look like a custom suit. The classic overall look combined with the updated fit and the crocodile details just makes it a suit that turns heads.
Because of my client’s body type, we decided to remove the belt from the jacket. On many suits, this would cause a major problem with the pockets. But because of the way this suit is constructed, we will be able to take in the seams in the back for an absolutely perfect fit. Truly well made suits leave opportunity for custom alteration to create the perfect fit.
The hallmarks of a great outfit: classic inspiration, modern fit, updated detail.
